Eggs from Hens on Pasture
We raise our laying hens on pasture where they do what chickens do best: scratch in the grass, chase grasshoppers, and forage for much of their diet. We employ traditional breeds like Rhode Island Reds, Plymouth Rocks, and Black Australorps to debug our gardens and fertilize our fields. Our animals never receive antibiotics or hormones and are fed only Organic grain.
Use our Order Form to sign up for an egg share (a dozen eggs each week of the CSA season).
Organic Pastured Broilers
We raise heritage Freedom Ranger meat chickens. They are free ranging over lush pasture, where they enjoy a smorgasbord of tender grass shoots, clover leaves, and tasty insects, as well as free-choice Organic grain. Our chickens are certified Organic by MOFGA. We process all our own birds here on the farm, and sell them as whole chickens for $4.50/lb. They generally weigh 3-5 pounds dressed.
Use our Order Form to sign up for a Poultry Share or to reserve individual birds by the date.
Heritage Breed Pork
There's nothing like the sight of a hog enjoying rich tasty soil. We have begun breeding our own heritage breed pigs, whose piglets will be certified Organic. We encourage our pigs to help till our fields, stir up our compost, and forage for as much of their diet as possible. Once old enough, they rotate through the woods and enjoy the grubs, roots, and acorns that abound there.
Our pork can be reserved by the whole or half hog with our Order Form.
Grass-Fed Lamb
We raise Katahdin sheep on 100% pasture. We feed no grain and use no dewormers or antiobiotics, but instead move our lambs to fresh pasture every other day. We try to coordinate the rotations of our sheep and poultry so the sheep can benefit from the wake of fertility left by our chickens.
Use our Order Form to reserve a whole lamb for the fall of 2013.
Organic Pastured Turkeys
We raise broadbreasted bronze turkeys on pasture the same way we raise our chickens. We process them the week of Thanksgiving so that customers enjoy a fresh, never-frozen pastured bird for the holiday. Our turkeys are certified Organic by MOFGA. They tend to sell out early - reserve yours for 2013 with our Order Form. |
